Description

Bound set of the Jubilee Journal, a series of daily newspapers produced onsite at the 1957 World Scout Jubilee held at Sutton Park, England, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Scouting movement. The papers were written, photographed, and printed by Boy Scouts in a tent at the event, documenting daily activities, visitors, and international Scout participation. Eleven issues were produced between August 1 and August 13, 1957 (no issues printed on Sundays).

The Jubilee celebration occurred during the combined Jamboree, Indaba, and Moot (J.I.M.) in Sutton Park, Sutton Coldfield, England. My brother and I attended the Jamboree which was for over 30,000 Scouts from around the world. The Indaba was for Scouters, and the Moot was for Rover Scouts.
