🎯 Description
Over 60 pages of images and memories highlighting an amazing experience tells and shows a great story about the 4th National Jamboree at the Valley Forge National Park in southeastern Pennsylvania. What a story it is.
When opened, each set of facing pages tells a small story. I photographed and have included the entire content of the book in the Gallery on this page so that it can be reviewed for the historical story it is.
📖 My Story
As a member of the special Jubilee Jamboree contingent, Troop 31 from the Valley Forge Council, looking through these pages brings back vivid memories of the magnificence of 52,000 Scouts gathered on the natural outdoor amphitheater for the special campfire. At one point, all of the Scouts lit a candle that we were provided with. I will never forget that.
🏕️ Historical Context
The 1957 National Scout Jamboree was the 4th National Jamboree. It was held at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania from July 12-18, 1957, and drew over 52,000 Scouts and leaders from across the nation.
Historical Value: High. It is the official “yearbook” of the event. For historians, it documents the uniform styles, the VIP guests, and the sheer scale of the tent city at Valley Forge.

💭 Additional Notes
It must have been prepared following the jamboree since it captures activities from start to finish. Possibly, it was provided to all who attended the jamboree as part of the price to attend, in which case over 52,000 copies would have been printed or it may have been pre-ordered at the trading post for future delivery.
Artifact Status: Available for donation to Cradle of Liberty Council (merger of Valley Forge Council and Philadelphia Council) or to Valley Forge National Historical Park
