Established in 1917, Oreland Troop 1 was one of Pennsylvania’s early Scout troops. In 1918 the troop attended Camp Delmont, the camp of the Delaware and Montgomery County Council. The troop continues to this day providing Scouts with the wonderful experience and learning of Scouting.
Troop Neckerchief (circa 1960?)
I cannot say for sure where I got this neckerchief. It could have been at the 1957 Valley Forge National Jamboree, or it could have been when I was on the staff of the Resica Falls Scout Reservation in 1959 or 1960. I remember my tent mate and fellow staff member was from the northwest of Philadelphia. I believe his name was Thaddeus “Thad” Pawlovic [sp]. He could have been a member of Oreland 1. So I believe the era is about right, but the provenance is rather shaky.

Email from Scoutmaster of Oreland Troop 1
I received this very appreciative email on January 13, 2026. This special neckerchief has found a new home.
