🎯 Description

The distinctive red, white, and blue neckerchief worn by all participants is a striking, clean design, especially when worn on the Explorer green shirt. The patches and neckerchiefs all contain the official logo for the 1957 National Jamboree at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania with one exception. The blue neckerchief was made especially for Valley Forge Troop 31, the contingent that was representing the Valley Forge Council at the Jubilee Jamboree in England at the beginning of August.

📖 My Story

I purchased quite a few of the pocket patches and neckerchiefs to take to the Jubilee Jamboree for trading purposes. Lots of patches of different kinds went back and forth across the trading tables; it was practice for the Jamboree in England. Our troop neckerchief with the specially made patch shaped like a shield with Washington praying was a popular item.

The 1957 National Scout Jamboree was the 4th National Jamboree. It was held at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania from July 12-18, 1957, and drew over 52,000 Scouts and leaders from across the nation.
