In June of 2026, several of David Curry’s collections including the 1957 World Badge Collection were donated to the World Scouting Museum in Charleston, West Virginia.
The badges are mounted on a piece of canvas, 32″x48″.
The 1957 World Badge Collection will be displayed in the World Scouting Museum’s event center, alongside of the camp blanket of Claude Marchal. The camp blanket is a relic from the man who built the collection that forms some of the museum’s core holdings. The honor of this placement is genuine and significant.
The World Scouting Museum incorporates what was Europe’s largest Scouting repository — Marchal’s museum in Switzerland — along with the World Scout Bureau’s memorabilia collection dating back to 1929, and the former Las Vegas International Scouting Museum founded by Dr. Robert Lynn Horne. When Dr. Horne brought Marchal’s collection first to Las Vegas and later to Charleston, Claude Marchal’s life work became part of the very institutional foundation of the museum that will now house the 1957 World Badge Collection.
